Markov branching processes with immigration-migration and resurrection

We consider a modified Markov branching process incorporating with both state-independent immigration-migration and resurrection. The effect of state-independent immigration-migration is firstly in- vestigated in detail. The explicit expressions for the extinction probabilities and mean extinction times are presented. The ergodicity and stability properties of the process incorporating with resurrection structure are then investigated. Degree of branching of the hyperbranched polymers resulted from ab<Subscript>2</Subscript> polycondensation with substitution effect

The analytical expressions of the various structural units and the average degree of branching for the hyperbranched polymers resulted from AB₂ polycondensation with substitution effect were derived by the kinetic mechanism.The reactivity difference between the B group in linear unit and that in terminal group has great effect on the molecular parameters of the products obtained.The concentration of terminal units has a maximum with the increase of the conversion of A groups（x）.The higher the reactivity ratio（r） of linear B group to branched one is,the later the maximum appears and the larger it is.The degree of branching of the hyperbranched polymers obtained is controllable by adjusting the parameters of r and x,which increases with increasing both x and r.

电流变液在两平行电极板间流动行为的实验研究

通过实验的方法研究了电流变液流经两间距为１．１ｍｍ的平行电极板的流动行为，实验所观测到的由于电流变液在电场作用下非均匀固化所引起的固相颗粒淤积与饱和过程、河道分岔和失稳等现象，对现有的有关电流变阀均匀流动模型提出了质疑，这为进一步深入理解电流变液的力学行为，建立新的理论模型提供了实验依据     

Radiative leptonic decay B-c→τ-(v)τγ in the standard model and the two-Higgs-doublet model

We analyze the radiative leptonic Be decay B-→τ-(v)τγ in the Standard Model and the twoHiggs-doublet model using the non-relativistic constituent quark model.The results confirm that this channel is experimentally promising in view of the large number of Bc mesons which are expected to be produced at future hadron facilities.We also find that this decay is sensitive to the parameters of the two-Higgs-doublet model,and it can be tested in future experiments.     

A system of grabbing particles related to Galton‐Watson trees

We consider a system of particles with arms that are activated randomly to grab other particles as a toy model for polymerization. We assume that the following two rules are fulfilled: once a particle has been grabbed then it cannot be grabbed again, and an arm cannot grab a particle that belongs to its own cluster. We are interested in the shape of a typical polymer in the situation when the initial number of monomers is large and the numbers of arms of monomers are given by i.i.d. random variables. Crystallizability of ethylene homopolymers by crystallization analysis fractionation

The effect of molecular weight and long‐chain branching on the crystallization analysis fractionation (CRYSTAF) of ethylene homopolymers was investigated. Several ethylene homopolymers were prepared with different molecular weights and levels of long‐chain branching to isolate these effects from the dominant effect of comonomer content on crystallizability measured by CRYSTAF. Molecular weight effects might be significant for samples with number‐average molecular weights below 5000, but this effect can be corrected if terminal methyl groups are taken into account. Long‐chain branching has only a very small effect on the CRYSTAF profile of the samples investigated in this study. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A phase transition for the heights of a fragmentation tree

We provide information about the asymptotic regimes for a homogeneous fragmentation of a finite set. We establish a phase transition for the asymptotic behavior of the shattering times, defined as the first instants when all the blocks of the partition process have cardinality less than a fixed integer.
